It is a broad inventory and order-management system for product businesses, with purchasing, warehouse operations, ecommerce integrations, manufacturing and accounting connections around one central inventory model.

DEAR Systems → Cin7 Core

Same product lineage, current Cin7 branding. This is a broader operations platform than a stock-only sync tool.

What happened to DEAR Systems?

DEAR Systems is not the current product name. Cin7 acquired DEAR Systems in 2021 and, on January 9, 2023, renamed DEAR to Cin7 Core. Cin7's announcement says the rename did not replace the underlying product for existing DEAR customers; it brought the product under the Cin7 brand.

That matters when researching the software today: older reviews, implementation guides and integrations may say DEAR or DEAR Inventory, while current product, pricing and support material uses Cin7 Core.

What Cin7 Core does

Cin7 positions Core as inventory management software for retailers, ecommerce sellers, wholesalers and manufacturers. The current Core product page and pricing matrix document a much wider operating scope than simple channel stock synchronization:

  • Inventory and purchasing. Product management, purchase orders, stock tracking, barcode scanning and warehouse workflows.
  • Sales and orders. Order management plus connections to ecommerce and marketplace channels.
  • Warehousing. Standard warehouse management is included; more advanced warehouse functionality varies by plan and add-on.
  • Manufacturing. Assembly manufacturing, kits and bundles, BOM tracking and batch/expiration tracking are part of the Core feature set; MRP and advanced production capabilities vary by plan.
  • Accounting connections. Cin7 lists Xero and QuickBooks Online among its accounting integrations.
  • Reporting and planning. Reporting is included, while advanced forecasting is offered as an add-on on the published plans.

The important operating distinction is that Cin7 Core is intended to become a central operational system, not just a background connector between existing listings.

Pricing

Cin7 publishes three Core plans. Prices below are the vendor's current monthly prices, in USD and excluding taxes.

Cin7 Core pricing checked October 3, 2026. Vendor pricing and plan contents can change.
Plan Published price Users Sales orders / year Ecommerce & app integrations
Standard $349/month 5 6,000 2
Pro $599/month 10 24,000 4
Advanced $1,199/month 15 120,000 6

Cin7's pricing page also lists optional paid capacity and features, including additional users/connections and add-ons such as advanced warehouse management, forecasting, API access, advanced automations and advanced production depending on plan. Price the configuration you actually need, not only the base subscription.

Channels and integrations

Cin7 says its platform connects with more than 700 services. Its current ecommerce material specifically names Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, eBay, Walmart, Faire, Etsy and Square among supported commerce channels, alongside accounting and operational integrations such as Xero and QuickBooks.

The integration count is broader than the number of ecommerce connections included in a Core subscription. The pricing page includes 2, 4 or 6 ecommerce/app integrations by plan, with additional connections available for purchase. Before buying, confirm that the exact connector you need is available to Core, what direction each field moves, and whether it consumes one of those included connection slots.

Inventory and sync model

Cin7's ecommerce pages describe a centralized inventory model: orders flow into Cin7, stock changes are reflected back to connected channels, and product or pricing data can also move through supported integrations. Cin7 markets several channel connections as real-time or near real-time.

Treat that timing as a vendor description, not a universal measured latency. The useful buying test is integration-specific: for every channel you depend on, verify order import timing, stock-update timing, product/price direction, fulfillment-status behavior, error handling and what happens during an API outage.

Where Cin7 Core fits

  • You want inventory, purchasing and orders managed from one central system rather than only keeping channel quantities aligned.
  • You operate several warehouses or locations and need stock movements to live in the same system as ecommerce orders.
  • You need assembly, BOM, batch/expiry or manufacturing workflows alongside multichannel inventory.
  • You want accounting integrations such as Xero or QuickBooks Online connected to the same operational data.
  • Your volume and required integrations fit one of the published plan limits, or you are prepared to buy additional capacity.

Tradeoffs and things to verify

These are buying checks from Cin7's current product and pricing material, not a ranking or verdict.

  • DEAR documentation is historical. When an old guide says DEAR, confirm the same behavior still exists in current Cin7 Core before relying on it.
  • The base price is not the whole configuration. Included users, sales-order volume and ecommerce/app connections differ by plan, and several advanced capabilities are add-ons.
  • Integration depth varies. A platform appearing in the integration directory does not prove every object and workflow syncs both ways.
  • “Real-time” needs an operational test. Measure the channels and failure cases that matter to your catalog during evaluation.
  • Core is broad. If your only requirement is stock propagation between already-managed listings, decide whether you actually need purchasing, warehousing, manufacturing and the rest of the operating model.
  • Implementation is part of the purchase. Cin7 offers onboarding options; confirm migration, configuration, training and any partner cost separately from subscription pricing.

Cin7 Core, Sellbrite and Trunk solve different jobs

Cin7 Core is the broadest operating model of these three: inventory, purchasing, orders, warehouse operations and manufacturing around one system. Sellbrite is centered on multichannel listings, inventory and orders. Trunk is narrower: it focuses on keeping stock quantities aligned across existing listings and adds bundles on its Pro plan. The useful comparison is which operating job you need the software to own, not which product has the longest feature list.

Cin7 Core and GNIZDO do different jobs

Cin7 Core is an operational inventory system that can move inventory and order data through connected workflows. GNIZDO is a detection-first inventory evidence layer. It observes each connected sales channel independently, keeps freshness and provenance with the evidence, and surfaces mismatches or stale state for review.

GNIZDO does not replace Cin7 Core and does not run automatic cross-channel synchronization. It can be complementary: Cin7 Core may be the system that is supposed to keep channels aligned, while GNIZDO checks what the channels themselves currently report.

Check GNIZDO's current platform scope before relying on that pairing:

  • WooCommerce stores can be connected today, with explicit capability-gated manual item corrections.
  • Etsy shops can be connected today, read-only.
  • Shopify is supported as a read-only runtime, but merchant connection remains gated until GNIZDO's Shopify App Store listing is published and configured.
  • eBay is planned, not a supported catalog runtime today.

Questions to ask before choosing

  • Am I replacing an old DEAR Systems setup, or evaluating Cin7 Core from scratch?
  • Which system should own the inventory quantity my team edits?
  • Which exact ecommerce integrations do I need, and how many connection slots will they consume?
  • What is my busiest annual sales-order volume, not just my average month?
  • Do I need manufacturing, BOM, batch/expiry or warehouse workflows?
  • Which features I need are add-ons on the plan I am considering?
  • For each critical channel, what actually syncs, in which direction, and how quickly?
  • What happens to orders and stock updates when a channel API is delayed or unavailable?
  • What migration, onboarding and training work is required beyond the subscription?
