A Ukrainian name

It means nest. The pronunciation is the fun part.

GNIZDO comes from the Ukrainian word гніздо́. English speakers get a few sounds here that English does not package in quite the same way. It is easier once you take the word apart.

Three sounds worth knowing.

Nothing exotic. Just three small mouth movements English spelling does not make obvious.

01

Г /ɦ/

A voiced, breathy h.

Not the hard g in “go.” Start with an English h, then let the vocal cords vibrate gently. It stays airy, but it is voiced.

02

НІ /nʲi/

A soft n flowing into “ee.”

Say n while lifting the middle of the tongue toward the hard palate. You hear a light y-colour, but it is not a separate syllable.

03

ДО /dɔ/

This is where the stress lands.

A short d plus an open aw-like vowel. Closer to “daw” than English “dough” — do not stretch it into a long o.

Put it together ɦ + nʲi + z + ˈdɔ гніздо́

Different observations need one place to land.

Гніздо literally means nest. That fits the product unusually well.

Inventory truth is not one magic number sitting in one database. Different channels report different facts, at different times, from different sources. GNIZDO keeps that evidence together with its freshness and provenance, then shows where it disagrees, goes stale, or becomes unsafe to trust.

It is detection first: see the state clearly before deciding what should change.

Birds do not have exclusive rights to nests.

Tree squirrels build rough nests from twigs, leaves and bark high in the canopy. In English, a squirrel’s tree nest is called a drey.

Illustrated ecommerce workspace with store boxes, product tables, and monitoring screens

We built it because we needed it.

GNIZDO started inside a team with years of ecommerce experience. The problem was ours before it became a product.

01

We knew the mess.

We had spent years working with ecommerce systems, stores, catalogs and integrations. Different tools showed different numbers, and “which one is true?” was often harder to answer than it should have been.

02

So we stopped guessing.

We built GNIZDO for ourselves: a separate view of what each channel reported, when it was observed, and where the evidence disagreed.

03

It earned its way out.

GNIZDO proved useful enough in our own work that we decided to turn it into a product for other ecommerce teams dealing with the same operational mess.

Detection first. Evidence before action.

GNIZDO is independently built and actively developed as an inventory truth layer for multichannel ecommerce. Before you automate inventory changes, you need trustworthy evidence of what every channel actually reported.

  • Evidencewhat the channel reported
  • Freshnesswhen it was observed
  • Provenancewhere it came from

One nest. Many observations. No pretending stale data is truth.
