Shopify inventory monitoring
Status: beta — read-only, in rollout. GNIZDO connects to a Shopify store and observes its catalog read-only: canonical stock and price evidence, confirmed generations, freshness, and change evidence. Shopify is a beta integration currently in rollout — the read-only runtime is implemented but not yet generally available to all stores, and sign-up continues to start with WooCommerce and Etsy.
What GNIZDO reads
- Canonical stock status and quantity per variant, together with inventory tracking and inventory policy
- Canonical price and currency per variant
- Variant identifiers and SKU (as evidence only)
- Channel trust, connection, freshness, and sync-execution signals
How the connection works
Shopify connects through a store-scoped custom-app access token. GNIZDO validates the token, resolves the exact shop identity, then reads the catalog into a confirmed local generation behind a completeness barrier. Reconnect protection prevents a different store from silently taking over an existing channel.
What GNIZDO shows
- Latest known stock and price per variant
- The canonical stock status GNIZDO derives (in stock / out of stock / backorder-eligible) and the underlying tracking and policy evidence
- Catalog completeness and import progress
- Freshness — how long since the store was last successfully observed
- Change evidence — stock drops, price changes, variants appearing or disappearing between observations
Write capability
Read-only. GNIZDO does not send stock, price, or listing changes back to Shopify. There is no write-back and no automatic sync.
How confirmed mapping works for Shopify
Shopify variants are mapping-eligible. GNIZDO can surface likely same-product candidates against other channels using exact SKU or title evidence, but a match is only a candidate. You confirm which listings represent the same product; only then does GNIZDO treat them as one item and keep their cross-channel evidence together. Equal SKUs are never assumed to prove shared identity.
Limitations
- GNIZDO mirrors what Shopify reports; it has no warehouse, POS, or WMS source of physical stock truth.
- The integration is read-only and currently in rollout, so availability and coverage can change.
- Cross-channel comparison applies only to confirmed shared identity.
