Listings change. Product identity needs evidence.

The same product can look different across WooCommerce, Etsy and Shopify. GNIZDO 0.7.0 makes those relationships easier to review without turning a title, SKU or disappearing listing into a guess.

GNIZDO started from a simple problem: three connected stores can describe the same sellable item in three different ways.

A SKU may differ. A marketplace title may grow into a long SEO description. A listing may disappear from one catalog and later return under a different external key. None of those facts, on their own, prove that two listings are the same product — or that one replaced another.

GNIZDO 0.7.0 makes that uncertainty explicit and reviewable.

Similar titles are a suggestion, not proof

Exact identifiers are still the strongest evidence GNIZDO has. A valid GTIN match or an unambiguous SKU can support a strong identity candidate.

But real catalogs are rarely that tidy. The same item might appear as Adzuki Beans in one store and as a much longer marketplace title in another.

GNIZDO can now surface deterministic similar-title candidates when stronger identifiers are missing. The suggestion explains the shared words, extra words and parsed size evidence that produced it.

These candidates stay low priority and are never confirmed automatically. A similar title is evidence worth reviewing, not identity proof.

“Not the same item” now becomes durable evidence

A useful matching system also needs to remember when the merchant says no.

Mapping candidates can now be marked Not the same item. GNIZDO keeps that decision, hides or blocks the same candidate from returning, and prevents automatic confirmation from silently joining those listings later.

If the merchant changes their mind, the decision can be restored. An explicit later confirmation also wins.

The important part is that merchant knowledge becomes part of the evidence instead of disappearing after one screen.

Listings have a lifecycle

A confirmed product identity is not the same thing as a listing being present in every current catalog.

Product Truth now records when a mapped listing entered, left or returned to its channel's confirmed catalog, along with changes to its name, SKU or listing type.

GNIZDO also reports listing presence separately as present, absent or unknown.

An absent listing remains part of the confirmed identity until the merchant explicitly changes that relationship. GNIZDO does not translate “not in the latest catalog” into “deleted”, “replaced” or “wrong”.

A new listing can point back to an existing identity

Sometimes a new unmapped listing appears while GNIZDO already knows the product on other channels.

When its current GTIN or SKU points to exactly one confirmed identity, GNIZDO can now show a Possible attachment.

The card shows the new listing, the existing identity and exactly which mapped listings supplied the matching identifier evidence. The merchant can attach it or say that it is not the same item.

The server checks the evidence again when Attach is clicked. If the catalog changed in the meantime, the stale suggestion is rejected instead of being applied from old evidence.

This is deliberately not a replacement detector. GNIZDO does not automatically detach an older listing, swap channel membership or infer that a new listing superseded an old one.

The boundary stays the same

GNIZDO 0.7.0 does not turn product identity into automatic synchronization.

It does not infer warehouse truth, stock pools or a merchant's internal inventory model. It does not use title similarity as automatic proof, and it does not treat a disappearing listing as a failure by itself.

The direction is narrower: keep current channel evidence, remember human decisions, show how listings change over time, and make uncertain identity relationships explicit enough for a person — or an agent — to review safely.
